My name is Sarah and I started Step By Step Home Ed after working as an Inclusion Officer for my local authority. Even though I’ve been educating children with SEND for over 15 years, I was completely naive about how many parents were struggling to get their children into suitable education. Either waiting for Ed Psych assessments, EHCPs, EOTAS packages or a suitable space to become available. Even when a space is available, physically getting the children into a setting can be harder than it sounds and be traumatising for both children and their families. These families are left for too long to fend for themselves without support from professionals.

Step By Step Home Ed is a tailored service for families who, for whatever reason, have found themselves Electively Home Educating their child with SEND. We offer the chance to meet virtually with families to discuss their child’s learning needs, set targets and develop a Personal Learning Plan bursting with activities to complete with your child. After 8 weeks, a review will be held where we will work together to evidence the education your child is receiving. This can then be sent to your LA as additional evidence when they complete their annual reviews of the education you are providing.”
